Our Closing Reception will be hosted by Professor Robin Mason, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) who will introduce Cristina Cortes, Chief Operating Officer from Canning House.
International Relations extends a warm welcome to all staff, students and visitors to celebrate the close of the University of Birmingham's Brazil Week 2017 with a series of Brazilian music performances including Capoeira and percussion. Take this opportunity to meet and network with the Brazil engaged community here in Birmingham.
Canning House is the UK's leading forum for informed comment, contacts and debate on Latin America politics, economy and business. Cristina Cortes, Chief Operating Officer is a political economist with international commercial experience in government, finance and energy. Thirty years’ expertise in government relations, international business development, joint venture management, commercial negotiations and ethics & compliance.
The Brazilian Cultural Centre, based in Birmingham city Centre, is dedicated to the education and performance of arts and also to the Brazilian Portuguese language & Brazil's diverse cultural heritage and history. Their goal is to create awareness of Capoeira, a rich hybrid fight-like dance, dance-like fight, ritual, and way of life.
